OWERVIEW OF GEOHERITAGE ASSESSMENT METHODS

The assessment of geoheritage and geodiversity is a necessary prerequisite for the development measures to preserve unique geological geomorphological objects. Various foreign domestic researchers have developed low-level methodology evaluating determining recreational value Leading developers methodological approaches in field are scientists Reynard (Reynard, 2012), Brilha (2016), Rocha (2014), Pereira (2013), Ferrero (Ferrero, Gray (2013 ), Fassoulas (Fassoulas, Zouros (Zouros, 2007), Asrat (Asrat et al., 2012) others. In Ukraine, V. Hrytsenko (2006), Yu. Zinko (2003, 2009, 2019), Brusak (2011, 2013, 2014, S. Bortnyk, Stetsyuk, etc. (2020), (2021), G. Bayrak, L. Teodorovych A. Manko (2021) others engaged study objects promising geoconservation. meaning concepts "geoheritage", "geodiversity" "geoconservation" their relationship should be distinguished. Geoheritage that special scientific, educational, aesthetic, other aspects, geoconservation process protecting preserving these part geodiversity, which, addition properties, includes pedological, hydrological elements inanimate nature certain territories. Geodiversity, along with biodiversity, component World Natural Heritage. studied at five levels – global (world), continental, national, regional local. Two types methods been direct indirect. According evaluation procedure, divided into qualitative, quantitative, qualitative-quantitative. Qualitative consists total based on results descriptive studies without any quantitative expression. Quantitative defining clear criteria, gradation assigning points each degree gradation. Each criteria sub-indices allow covering entire spectrum qualitative Scientific, recreational, economic, prospective values distinguished as criteria. final site determined by sum points. choice was chosen depending characteristics object natural features territory.
